Systems Engineer | Requirements, MBSE & AI-Assisted Engineering
I bring structure, traceability and systems thinking to complex engineering environments, combining requirements engineering, MBSE and AI-assisted workflows to support clearer, safer and more auditable decisions.
01About
I'm a Systems Engineer working in the UK nuclear sector, focused on requirements engineering, traceability and model-based systems engineering across large, regulated programmes. My work centres on making complex systems legible: well-structured requirements, clear hierarchy and rationale, and engineering decisions that can stand up to scrutiny.
Before nuclear, I worked in aerospace at Rolls-Royce on civil engine control systems, covering model-based engineering, requirements, and verification and validation in safety-critical software and systems contexts. That environment shaped how I work: disciplined change control, evidence-driven verification, and respect for the lifecycle.
I also work on the careful, structured adoption of AI in systems engineering, using LLM-based support for gathering, reviewing and linking requirements to improve consistency, traceability and decision support. The aim is never to replace engineering judgement, but to give it better instruments.
02Expertise
ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288-aligned requirements practice: quality, clarity, hierarchy, rationale and end-to-end traceability across the system lifecycle.
Structuring, linking and baselining requirements for audit-ready programmes, including leading internal IBM DOORS training for 100+ colleagues.
SysML modelling in Sparx Enterprise Architect with model-to-requirement traceability, supporting cross-discipline coherence of the system definition.
Engineering in nuclear and aerospace contexts: V-model delivery, verification and validation, and the rigour regulated environments demand.
LLM-supported requirements gathering, review and linking through structured systems-engineer personas, supporting deliberate and responsible adoption of AI in engineering workflows.
V&V planning and lifecycle thinking from system definition through integration, building the evidence base alongside the system itself.
03Work
High-level, role-level summaries. No internal or sensitive detail.
Structured requirements, hierarchy and traceability on major UK nuclear programmes, including the Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) and the Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR) at a public, programme level. Aligned with governance and regulatory expectations.
Managing and structuring 800+ requirements in IBM DOORS and leading internal training for 100+ colleagues, raising consistency, traceability and confidence in requirements management.
Supporting system architecture work in Sparx Enterprise Architect with SysML, maintaining requirements-to-model traceability and a coherent system definition across disciplines.
Designing LLM-supported systems-engineering personas for requirements gathering, review and linking, making AI adoption in engineering structured, safer and more consistent.
Model-based design for Rolls-Royce civil engine programmes including Trent 700, Trent 900, Trent 1000, Pearl10X and UltraFan. Delivered with MATLAB/Simulink, PTC Integrity and SysML through the V-model in a DO-178C context.
